She decided to collect the researches she had made into what are still called ‘alternatives’ but might also be called ‘traditional’ healing methods into one place for others to tap into if they are on the same path.
AND EVEN IF YOU'VE CHOSEN CHEMO, THERE ARE THINGS ON THIS SITE FOR YOU-READ ON.

There are some books which talk about these issues, but they tend to reflect one author’s views and exclude some other books/views—

[u]THIS SITE WILL AIM TO BE BROAD SPECTRUM, BUILT BY THOSE USING IT AND THOSE POSTING ON IT-PLEASE DO JOIN IN HERE WITH YOUR OWN COMMENTS AND RESEARCHES-THIS IS HOW THE SITE WILL GROW AND BE USEFUL TO US ALL- IT IS ALL ABOUT ALL OF US

CANSURVIVING is the present participle of the verb to survive,
AN ACTIVE VERB, AND THIS IS VITAL

NB While this part might ideally be in the navigation bar with drop down categories this is not possible on this site and I hope all users will understand & tolerate this...

PLEASE NOTE YOU CAN READ ALL PoSTS BY CLICKING ON THE LEFT HAND FORUM BUTTON, NOT THE RIGHT HAND BUTTON RELATING TO THE LAST POST-- I REALISE THAT THIS HAS CONFUSED PEOPLE AND HOPE IT IS NOW CLEAR

Who is it for?
Anyone interested in seeing what else there may be out there apart from what conventional treatments offer.

And it might be helpful to bear the 19th century philopsher Schopenhauer's words in mind here:

ALL TRUTH PASSES THROUGH THREE STAGES:

FIRST IT IS RIDICULED,

SECOND IT IS VIOLENTLY OPPOSED,

THIRD IT IS ACCEPTED AS BEING SELF- EVIDENT...mmmm

This is both for use on its own if you eschew the chemo etc route, or as a COMPLEMENTARY PATH which can help with the orthodox side effects and also encourage the body to be a less receptive place for cancer cells to grow…

This of course gives no guarantees, is not a panacea, and is merely offering possibilities which you might like to consider.

THIS IS YOUR ROAD, AND YOURS ALONE

Others may walk it with you, but only you can walk it for you.

Having said that, there are indeed people who remain healthy and happy following these kinds of route.

This is bottom line something empowering, and that in itself is an excellent first step.

Some user comments so far:

[b]`Clear, accessible and un-sensational’ -Nell, film-maker

‘This will be a life jacket for people’ -Jane, gardener and singer-songwriter

‘Great, really informative and I’ll pass on to friends presently undergoing treatment’ -Annie, publisher

`Great. Amazing in fact, should be a real hit and so helpful for people in the same boat’ Anthea, psychoanalyst

Dr Roger Foggitt, Counselling Psychologist in the field of Oncology and Palliative Care in NZ says: ‘this is a very valuable resource for all those who struggle to achieve the right balance between quality and quantity of life, when facing treatment options with huge implications for themselves and their loved ones, as a result of living with cancer’

‘Both comforting and informative for those in need of information and encouragement. It could only have been written by some one with personal experience—invaluable’ -Sonja, researcher

‘Brilliant- not only an incredible informational resource but the fact it is filtered by personal advice and experience makes it all the more valuable and useful to people. That's a rare thing for such a complicated and emotive subject.’ Kate, website consultant

‘What a fabulous website and great ideas! It’s very helpful to have that mountain of information made digestible in a personal way. It seems to take a surprisingly long time to recover one's basic security after these events’ -Dr RH, psychotherapist, Australia

And this is what a recent new member said, after being faced with the trauma of cancer diagnosis.:

“Thank you very much for the information and I appreciate you for taking time and responding to my email...this site is so inspiring. I'm taking it slow before making any further decisions about treatments. In the mean time I’m following the alkaline diet and reading a lot about success stories and different diet plans, as each body responds differently to each method either surgery, chemo or diet I believe... I already feel very relaxed and positive about beating this cancer without any side effects. I look forward to sharing my story on the forum in near future.”

How can you use it?
You can browse the site under the different headings or forums and hopefully add your own researches as the site develops. The logo says it all-

each person’s journey is unique, and you can load up into your little boat anything from here that may be useful to you.

Where can you find the information?
This is under the headings or fourms described below- and these will broaden out as needed along the way. Your ideas will become part of the ongoing growth process. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS, as is the whole field of how to tackle this dis-ease, both in the orthodox and non-orthodox fields, however much the orthodox view can prevail as gold standard among its adherents.

How to persuade the Emperor not to strike back…

Siddhartha Mukherjee, an Indian born physician and oncologist, recently wrote a book called ‘The Emperor of all Maladies’ about cancer (and what we put into it: it is the most feared of all diseases- it is reviewed in the Library Section )—hence my subtitle here…Welcome to this project—it’s open to all to join in, and let’s see where we go with it…

Ok so you’ve had your cancer diagnosis, what a punch in the guts—then what sets in?
Probably panic, terror, horror, incredulity, hopelessness, despair, even feeling suicidal (many people do)---then comes the question, what to do, which path to choose? What next? Whatever next?

This may be no consolation, but it’s the way everyone feels at the beginning of this episode in your life…

So, which way to go indeed? If you’re choosing Chemo Way—this may not seem to you to be for you right now but do have a look and THERE ARE IDEAS POSTED HERE BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD CHEMO AND DEALT WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS SUCCESSFULLY USING THESE THINGS NOT USUALLY SUGGESTED BY THEIR MEDICAL TEAM-- there are ideas posted by those who have had chemo and dealt with the side effects well... SO why not try NOW as a complementary backup to the ‘conventional’ treatments. Just have a look and then see how it feels. You may save yourself quite a bit of anxiety and pain...

I hope you might be interested to explore all the information put together on this site by a number of people, so that their trawling through things for months isn’t wasted, and you don’t have to do it all again…that said, each journey for each person is unique and if that’s a cliché, it’s because it’s said so often but is also true—You may find some contradictory things here --as in the dietary section, is carrot juice a good thing? (Gerson) or bad? (PhDiet)—or is a particular food acid or alkaline? Gerson again says avocados are too oily & cucumbers too salty—but on the Ph Diet they are a mainstay and both v alkaline…etc etc…

You have to pick your way here through all this,

but there are also many things that link in together and gather in your thinking so you can start to plan your own path & walk the walk instead of allowing someone else to take responsibility for what happens from now on in your life… there’s a virtual ‘library’ of books here, collated and reviewed, links to different articles about alternatives to the cut/poison/burn protocol on offer through orthodox channels, (and as you may have already found out, many of the orthodox specialist people, tend not to be interested for all sorts of reasons in exploring alternatives- GPs are often much more open and interested as many of them see patients as whole people not just a ‘symptom’).

Ok there are some cynical reasons for this lack of interest, like money & the huge but huge profitability for the drug companies in the cancer industry, as well as the now known fact that drug companies have a habit of downplaying or even ignoring evidence that does not back up the claims for their particular drug, but for many medics, it’s what they know. This is what they offer, what many of them genuinely feel is all there is, what they have to live with offering to many and what they can’t face looking away from, even though a neuroscientist recently said on a radio programme that in 50 years we may consider these orthodox cancer treatments we use now to be ‘cruel and barbaric’. But there is reportedly a high suicide rate among oncologists. It must indeed be a depressing job in many cases, to have people rely on you so totally and not to be able to offer them anything which 'does no harm'. Gradually, through sites like this one, maybe the tide will turn, and indeed many hospitals are now taking more notice of 'alternatives'.

Where can we go from here?

As well as the LIBRARY, (with book reviews),under BODY and DIET there is a HOMEOPATHY section, a NATUROPATHY section, an ACUPUNCTURE section, a RESEARCH section (research emerges all the time and this needs updating quite regularly- there is someone who is now contributing to this particularly), then a MUSIC, SONG AND DANCE AND LAUGHTER AS MEDICINE section, as part of the SPIRIT AND MIND section, a PERSONAL STORIES forum and also a forum called WILL YOU WON'T YOU-about living wills, palliative care etc for when we reach that point-as every human being on the planet does..and whatever else develops along the way.

Oh yes and as Marianne Moore the American poet said in her poem The Pangolin: ‘humour saves a few steps.. it saves years’

All this will be evolving as we go, you can contribute to it. Hopefully we’ll build a huge resource for those less far on the journey to tap into… Thanks to you all in advance for joining this, and for being of service to others...

THIS JOURNEY OF YOURS CAN HELP OTHERS TOO
