Dear Cansurvivors, families and friends,

It's some time since we have produced a Newsletter and we hope you'll forgive us- always so much to achieve and we do certainly achieve a great deal!

Here' s just a summary of what we've done over the last year or so, which keeps you all in the picture.

We are a community, and you are all part of it- it's an important human need, to work in communities, a human need which is often overlooked. Our site, built by us all, is a perfect example of community building – and recently one of our new members from Australia said the site had been recommended to him by some colleagues in the USA, as being 'the best site on the web for cancer'. Well when there are over 9 million references on the web for healing cancer, that is quite an accolade.

We are now linked with Maggies Centres, Yes to Life and Canceractive, and have good productive communications with them. Please add to this list by sending the site details to other centres which might feature our efforts alongside their own. We are all on this healing wave together. And of course flag us up where you can on Facebook, Twitter or wherever- you never know when someone in need will pick this up. The 'Where Can I Start' forum was started this year in response to someone's feeling bewildered, and it navigates people from the beginning on this next new part of their lives.

Our radio programme was listened to across the world- sadly the funding for further programmes is now no longer available, but again if you have local radio/tv contacts, do use them! Our site founder Judith was on Iranian TV talking about the site- this came about through a contact on Linked In- you never know what these links may bring... Patricia our Scotland Representative has been working hard to spread the word in Scotland: she went to a Yes to Life meeting in Aberdeen, took our leaflets and wrote an article about mistletoe healing which they featured (see on the site). It's a year since we did a YouTube video- perhaps we may do another in the autumn.

Our publications manager Rose is getting married in the autumn – the wedding of the year for all of us! She and her husband are both vegans, and are giving a donation from their wedding gifts to Yes to Life. Lorraine our publicity manager is always busy on our behalf wherever she goes: it was she who managed to get our January talk filmed, (see the site for the Nina Joy talk) and hopefully we will be able to do more such things in the future. Lara provided biscuit tastings at that event, and has recently won the Soil Association's award for the children's section with her banana bread. We all loved it too and we are proud! Andrew the Ideas Man is cooking up vegan storms and some of these are on the site in the Recipe section – do go and look: the excellent thing about this site is that it is indeed a one stop free shop, not beating any one person's drum- and you can browse endlessly and find something new, something stimulating, a new idea, or revisit something you'd temporarily forgotten.

So here's what we try to do, in a nutshell: We all need mentors, and we can co-mentor one another on this site. There's only so much we can individually master, so the wise teacher is always a student of something. The most effective way to keep your brain young and sharp is to continue learning. Having friends is important, having buddies you can turn to is vital. We are all here for one another!

Mastering the basics is the most important part of any practice. You can
find yourself flooded with fresh new ideas and strategies that you wouldn't have thought of along the way. And of course helping people on their respective paths feels
pretty good too!

Conceive, believe and achieve- and stay curious!

With love, thanks and all best on all our journeys from the Cansurviving Team

Judith, Rose, Lorraine, Patricia and Andrew
