This article published by E-Cronicon*, written by the site founder, Judith Edwards, focuses on how trauma (such as the diagnosis of cancer) impacts on the brain and the body in terms of physiology and neurobiology, and how this, in turn, affects our cognition, affect, and behaviour.

The paper includes a lovely quote by Haruki Murakami from his novel Kafka on the Shore (2005): “Once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about”.

Many thanks to Judith for taking the time to write this thought provoking and comforting piece in order to support all the Cansurvivors and their families out there.
